5. What We Record When You Use the Site
Our analytics are our own. We do not send your browsing to a third-party analytics service, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers.
We give your browser a randomly generated visitor id in a first-party cookie, which lasts a year. It contains no personal information and exists so that the pages you read and the things you do join up into one visit rather than a pile of disconnected events. Clearing your cookies ends that thread — the next visit starts fresh.
For each page view we record the path (without its query string), where you arrived from, your device type, browser, operating system, and your IP address. IP addresses are visible only to site administrators and are kept for 90 days, after which they are erased; the rest is kept for a year. We do not look your location up from your IP — a country is only shown when you have told us one in your own profile.
We also record the features you use with what you asked for and what came back — for example a player search and how many players it found — so we can tell a feature that works from one that quietly returns nothing. When something goes wrong we store the error message, the page and the browser, once per distinct fault with a count, so we can fix it.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we record nothing at all.
6. How We Share Information
We share information with trusted service providers who help us run the Service — such as hosting, payment processing, and analytics — under strict confidentiality obligations and only as needed to perform their functions.
